Been looking at these two. Jetboil seems to boil faster, but MSR seems to claim to be fuel effecient. I have no experience with any of these.

Not one of the ones you're asking about but I have been really happy with the MSR dragonfly for 10 years.

Not sure what your intended use is, but I looked at the 2 stoves you listed and ended up going with this... http://www.mec.ca/AST/ShopMEC/HikingCamping/StovesFuel/PRD~5024-200/jetboil-sol-aluminum-personal-cooking-system.jsp

The Sol has a regulator that helps at higher elevation, and is like 10.5 oz's all up, plus whatever size fuel canister. If you run a small canister, it actually can be stowed inside the pot, saving pack space.

For what the Jet Boils are designed for, boiling water, they are tough to top. I've got Peak 1 and River Trail canister stoves, Primus Multifuel can/liquid stove, and even a straight alcohol stove, but they all lag way behind the JB for a super fast/efficient hot water machine.

The MSR Dragonfly has a 11,400 BTU burner and will boil a liter of water in 3.5mins. It's loud as hell at full throtle but it gets the job done. It also has one of the best simmering controls out there, even better than the MSR Simmerlight which I bought after my Dragonfly broke after 15 years, I wish I got another Dragonfly instead of the Simmerlight.

Jetboil, all in one unit, no hoses, pots, fuel etc. doesn't take up much space boils water fast. Love it!

Highest elevation I can see using it would be 1260 meter. Just to boil water for one person.. maybe 2

Jetboil? Mine has worked fine from 5000-7000' which is a tad over 1260 meters. No issues. If it's cold (freezing cold) you need to keep the canisters warm.

I've had the Jetboil for nearly 6 years now and it's never missed a beat. Some guys are still priming and tinkering with their little backpacking stoves while my water is already heating up.

I agree 100% I dont have any experience with the other stove, but I love my jetboil too

Both are awesome stoves however the MSR Reactor boils water faster and consumes less fuel than the Jetboil. The Jet boil is lighter and more stable.

The JB Sol is rated at 12 litres(24, 2 cup portions) of boiling water per 100 gram cartridge. I've not tested that number, but I don't doubt it'd be at least close to that.
