Any good campsites near Williams Lake? I'm hoping I can make it that far from Horseshoe Bay in a day; but ya never know with the young kids LOL. Anyhow, will need a nice place just for a night that is near the highway that has "city" type facilities (showers and hookups) as the family is in tow.

Also, am I hooped if I haven't booked already for the Sat June 30?

Thanks!

Howdy, not sure about Williams Lake but there is a couple along Lac La Hache advertising full service sites. Later

The stampede grounds camp site is right in town but the date may be an issue if the Stampede has started

Try Kokanee Bay in LacLaHache. Right across from Clancy's (the rebuild is coming along great! Wimpy burgurs soon!)

Mcleese lake has a nice campground on it ....

You should be able to make it no problem ... will be a long day with the 2 hours of nothing on the boat ... but Williams lake is only 6 hours from the ferry

Agree with this choice. It's very close to Williams Lake and was a very decent site.

that is stampede weekend very busy here. Might want to consider lac la hache, not trying to keep you away from us but most of us leave town unless your involved with the stampede. Kokanee bay is nice as well as mcleese lake. chief wil yum would have been my reccomendation in the puddle. stay safe driving up here that weekend like I said we get invaded.

30 plus years here that is THE WEEK to avoid the Pond...Mcleese lake would be great choice..less drunken BS, safer for family and children IMO , if I wasnt working I would be gone for that also...

cheers

Thanks for the advice everyone. The kids are only 4 and 6 so I really want to avoid the drunk crowd.

Thanks for the local insight, srupp. I'll give Mcleese a call and see if I can get them to change their mind about their 2 day minimum policy on long weekends.

Just stayed at a little place between Williams lake and Mcleese lake last week, I think it was called deep creek, had a little gas bar and store with alot of antiques it, the camp spots were down a hill by a small creek, quite, fires allowed, pets welcome and the owner was very friendly.

Yup deep Creek..small not much for children to do the antiques are for the wives..lol..might have a mosquito issue (I hunt just 500 yards away in the fall )

but a suggestion non the less...
