Looking for some input on the Spyderco Shapmaker before I buy one. Anyone have one and do you lik it or have you shot it already? Or any suggestion for sharpeners?

Thanks,

I like the sharpmaker. I used to use a lansky but now I only use the lansky if I have alot of material to grind off to get the angles set for the sharpmaker. I would recommend getting the diamond stones for the sharpmaker. I can get my knives very sharp with it and and it works great with bigger knives like my kitchen knives.

It doesn't seem that too many have heard of this sharpener, but those who have recommended it say they love it. I think I will be pick one up myself.
How long have you had yours trykillthis?

I have one and like it, very easy to use once you get used to it. Lack of angles means you may have to work a while to re-profile, but once you have the right angles it is easy to do touch ups. The diamond stones are a must if you need to remove lots of material on tougher steels like ZDP 189 and M390 etc.
