Was out hunting bears a few times this spring. Saw a bunch of them but none were shooters. This weekend i took the gf up to whistler for a romantic weekend away from the kids(just to get laid). Today we did the ziptrek tour and next to the bobsled track at 100 yards we spotted a nice bear. I left the group and got to within 15 yards of it. Then it started snorting and kicking the ground. Thats as close as i got. I got some great pics will post when home. Anyways it was a nice 300+lbs boar

Isn't the bobsled track in no shooting zone anyways??

I couldn't relate to this story more, traveling up and down STS hwy for years and seeing countless bears, but trying to find one on my hunting trips in last couple of years??? Why would I get so lucky??

I work in the sea to sky area, squamish, whistler pemberton. theres some beauties along the way, a nice bear at bob. One morning I almost had to turn around as I thought there was a grizzly at the callahange turn off, fairly large hump and it appeared to have a silvery coat but could;ve just been from rain, still kicking myself for not going back for pics. All in all theres alot of bear up there, nothing to see 2-8 bears a day in whistler. Had a younger bear last fall come up to 2ft away from me. Got some cool pics on my phone

I don't hunt bears anymore but guess what? I drove out scouting for deer area above Kamloops and saw not one but two bears.
The last one I saw was a huge boar twenty yards off the fsr.
Jel .. In two hours of scouting (driving along) I saw the two bears and a big whitetailed deer.

I went up the Coq for firewood yesterday...no rifle,,saw a big blackie 20 yds away,, just watching us watch him...and a large grizz on the way down. Man that thing ran fast! The first thing I thought was " I need a bigger rifle" lol.

My understanding is that all Whistler bears are very friendly, maybe he just wanted to shake paws and say hi?? ;)
