Well I had my very first Black Bear stock this weekend. I was in the 3-20 area and a friend and I happened upon a Black Bear in a cut block right at last light. He knew we were there and headed for the treeline. I got myself ready as well as I could and took my shot. Well I missed. I now know what they mean by the rush. No matter how much practice and mentally preparation you do it all goes out the window when it is actually go time to shoot an animal. I got such an adrenaline rush I could hardly breath and tried very hard to settle down before shooting. It was a bit of a longer shot than I have ever done and happened so fast I had hardly any time to get ready. Reflecting back all l I can say is many lessons learned and I can't wait to do it all over this fall. Wow what a rush!
