for a 3 gallon pot

4lbs roast cut into cubes
1 stalk of celery
carrots
red onionon
broccoli
califlower
spinach
1 pack of soup mix ...its rice split peas barley
4 cartons of beef broth
4 cubes of vegetable oxo
maggie seasoning .
splash of soya
shell noodles ...not to much though
spices...garlic pepper salt
add potatoes if u like
half pound of bacon if preffered ,,i recomend the bacon

brown the meat and cook the bacon almost done then start the simmering

simmer meat and bacon and broth for 3 hours before adding the goodies ...use beef bovril to flavor to your liking after all the vegies are in ...

enjoy..............make sure u rince the noodles and soup mix to get the starch off

That is one hearty soup. If I was eating that at home, there'd be some big-a$$ dumplings going in there, too. Would be awesome as-is, though, to take out to the bush in one of those wide-mouth Thermoses! Holy crap I'm getting hungry!

Nice recipe Jeff! I thawed out a nice venison roast from the freezer and made soup tonight using your recipe with a few mods. My wife helped out a bit (yep, a bit), and it tastes amazing. I uploaded a pic to the Forum but don't know how to embed it in this post.

Made a giant pot and am pretty sure my 15 month old will be gobbling it up. She is a new and big fan of bear pepps and sausage. Nothing better than feeding the fam.

Cheers and thanks for great post.
