Not the end of the world if you don't have to go up a hill or too far, and don't get pulled over, lol.

If I see that set up on the road, I'd be a lot happier if it was in front of me rather than behind me! :-)

Ummm... Nope. That would be my F-150. And while she has been dressed as a tow rig (air bags, extra leaves, tranny cooler, heavy hitch etc) I certainly wouldn't want to drag that boat too far! I did tow the 25' Hurston from Nanaimo to Ukee, and that was "interesting" enough thanks. After we launched it, Buddy noted he wanted to service the legs on the 33 footer, and wondered if the little-truck-that-could might be able to pull it out. Always up for a challenge, I agreed to give it a whirl. Although that rig weighs 16,000 pounds empty (and had two full fuel tanks plus gear) the Ford had NO Problems. Drug it up the rock/gravel ramp at the sea plane base in Ukee in front of a cheering crowd from the Boat House - they couldn't believe a half-ton would even budge it! LOL!
Did make for an interesting picture though - simply thought I'd share...

Cheers,
Nog

Its the 7700 series, really a 3/4 ton dressed up to look like a 1/2ton. I think Ford made them because in some states it was a lot cheaper to insure the lighter duty pickups at the time, with a 7 bolt wheel they were not classified as a 3/4ton

I own a 2000 Lariat that was factory built to be equiped with a plow, transmission and oil cooler, heavy duty leaf springs and rear air bags, it makes a nice hunting truck
