I have the chance to get out for one last spring bear hunt with a couple friends, curious to know if anyone has been up the Whipsaw FSR or other areas around that country recently? I know the area fairly well, and where I'll set up camp, but wondering about traffic up there and more specifically the weather/climate right now....any info would be great! Thanks, and Happy Hunting!

Whipsaw is only busy during the short Elk season.
Fill your boots. Should be a fun time!

Haven't seen a ton of vehicles up there - but haven't seen a ton of game either. Roads are all good though.

There are lots of side roads off the whipsaw main line try to spend your time on these side roads and you will see what you are looking for..

Spent the weekend up there. Heard one or two quads on the main road and never saw another person. The campsites along the road up the first 19 km were empty.

As for bears saw a couple of sows and some cubs and one small boar that we stalked for fun. First good weekend of action.

Good luck!

I was up there about 3 weeks ago for a weekend. There were a number of hunters driving the roads (quads and pickups). Still lots of snow at the higher elevations (above 4000 ft) then.

would be interested to sere when the place gets alot of traffic... whipsaw is the only place while i am hunting i have to put my signal on to turn... also i get off the beaten path and even then i see less and less animals each year
