Went out with a friend from work who wanted a couple bear rugs, he shot the blond at 40 yards, due to the rain the pic sucks but it was a very light honey color and squared 6'6'' then he shot the black the next day it was all scared up and squared 6'5''. We were walking by a creek where there was lots of sign, we didnt see anything and it was hot out so we stepped into the shade and started talking like a couple greenhorns. We had been there for a couple minutes and I looked behind me and saw a bear 20 yards away in the thick stuff just sitting there watching us. "Shoot that thing!" I said and he looks at me funny, ''What thing?" he asks, then he sees it but his rifle is leaning on the tree 30 ft away so he walks over, picks it up and cranks the bear. Easiest bear hunt ever.

Good 'ol 30-30, not sure on the grain but it was some big, ugly flat headed bullets he was using, just dropped them in their tracks
