So, I am extremely happy right now, there is now a Whitefront season in regions 1 and 2... BUT!! there is also the bag limit increase for canada geese to 10 per person in regions 1 and 2 as well. I know that dale, dennis and mark and the guys at Delta/Ladner Rod and Gun had something to do with this as well as probably Cowichan F&G (tanya and john) as well as anybody else as well.

between, raising the snow goose limit and the canada goose limit it took 8 years.this will hopefully be good enough for the next eight years. knowing my luck the population will drop and back at it again.....dale

haha well, its here for the next two years as long as people don't complain about duskies being shot, which if I remember correctly was the reason they held it back. Snow geese is still at 10 though, was it at 5 before?

Snows wouldn't affect me anyways its not like they'll be moving into Cloverdale anytime soon, I have only ever seen a flock of 5 fly over heading inland towards Langley, they were amazingly high, no chance in hell. I will like this new specklebelly season, there were probably 5 times this year where they flew right over us at a range where we could have smashed their wings by using our barrels as bats.

Just read your post CF never mind what I just posted

Read the regs again. It says snow geese 2-2 to 2-19. 5 daily 15 possession. With a footnote below 2-4 and 2-5 are 10 daily 30 possession.

Nothings changed. They just changed the wording as before you could only shoot snows in 2-4/5 but now they're open region wide.

They worry about possible tule harvest during the early season on the island. Lucky enough to have a speck season from what I've heard and had talks with.

May be a stupid question but what the heck is a "tule"? Just have no idea what you are referring to.

Mitch, white-fronted = tule http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/greater_white-fronted_goose/lifehistory

Yea it's just a subspecies still under concern. It's what the duskies are to the Canada's as the Tules are to white fronts.

Is the region 2 full year season for Canadas a mistake?

Specks are open almost full season, same dates as ducks. Canadas are still pretty much identical as previous years with 3 splits through the year

Here's 16 Alberta honkers a few years back...I can just barely lift them, like dragging out a deer! The real question is, can Lorne get 10 to land so he can Arkansas them?

Might have to look into buying some speck decoys!

I was surprised to see an increase in Canada's , the 5 speck limit was the icing on the cake.
