First off i want to say sorry for my awesome spelling and grammer skills....

Well I have my 3 year old daughter to thank for this one....we were about to head home from an awesome weekend of camping, just packing up the last of the gear and about to load up the quad when she started to beg me for one last quad ride. So as any daddy would i told her with a hudge smile on my face "of course so sweetie". Who could resist taking a their little girl asking for one last ride lol. After leaving camp she said "daddy i want to go on an adventure" as i laughed and said ok, i thought of a little plateau on the power lines that always had a few mulies and a bunch of bear poops on it so off we went. We got to the plateau and all seemed pretty still. Then my little one said "daddy look" and there stood 5 mulies, i was pretty impressed with her little eyes. Shes got daddys attention span so quickly she asked to go back to camp. I gave the hill sides one last quick scan with my eyes because im smart and forgot to bring my binos with me, when i saw a brownish red lookin blob about 700 yard away. I did alot of quading and hadent seen a single cow all weekend long so it had to be a bear...After watching it for a few minutes it was deffinatly a bear. With a little pep in my step so to speak i grabbed the little one and bolted back to camp to grab some of the boys and the main ingrediant A GUN!

Quick side story....i bought a new gun and im waiting to order my new bases and rings so i borrowed my grandpas old 270 for the weekend and could not get it sighted in to my likings for the life of me. any who back to the story

I arrived into camp as quickly/safly as i could with the daughter on the quad with me left her with mom and said to my buddy kyle "how confidant are you in ur ultra mag." "Good up to 700" he replied. I said "perfect lets go i spotted a bear" Off we went back to the power lines.

As we arrived back at the power lines i was bumed out to see that the bear had dissapered but i was still shure it was a bear and itll pop up again. My buddy Al said "try ur predator call, now is as goo as time as any." I pulled it outta my pack and started calling. After a couple of minutes of calling like a rabbit in distress still no bear. Just then my buddy kyle spotted a bear coming out of the trees 1200 yard behind us up the power line. We glassed the bear and after watching it for quite a few minutes we all agreed it was alone and looked like a nice bear. With me being the only one with a bear tag (stupid friends hehehe) and not feeling confidant with a 700 yard shot let alone a 1000+ yard shot uphill with someone else's gun we started planning how to get closer to this beast. We figured quading up to the next switch back would bring us just below the bear and we could start a stalk on the bear from there, boy we were wrong. The switch back brought us above where we last spotted the bear and we had no idea where he could be. I started to creep down the road with my eyes down the bank(where we last saw the bear), my buddy Al was watching the upper side and Kyle was watching around the corner down the road. Kyle flicked his finger to get my attention and said "Get down he's on the road." I took a knee hugged the bank on the high side and waited for him to pop out around the corner. When he finally popped out around the corner i was amazed, he was actually a nice sized boar . I looked back at my buddy Al and whisperd "thats a nice bear" he whisperd back "F*cking Shoot!" LOL.

The bear was slightly quarted towards me but with the urgency in Al's comment i put the crosshairs on his chest and BANG 300 ultra mag barked and he pretty much dropped in his tracks. I few loud yells of glory and sum hi fives and i had my first BIG big game animal down. I must say this is the first time i had an animal down that actually grew as i got closer and when after i gave him a poke to make shure he was done i realised i had shot myself one hell of a blackbear. he squared out at the taxidermist at 6'9'' and we estimated him to be a solid 375lbs

The skull has to dry, does it not????

It does for an official score but you should be able to get a real good idea now what it will score right now especially on a bear as there are only two measurements.
