Sunday morning at 05:30 the 700 road to 7-23 was snowed in at 40km. Talked to Vern from Vanderhoof who was camped there and he said the snow continued up to 47km. Next tried to get into 7-39 via Germansen Landing, road N snowed in according to a local. Tried via Osalinka FSR Sunday afternoon, 4' of snow at 79km Kemess Road with grader working and operator's truck parked across the road. Thanks to 2 guys in a newer red Duramax that reminded us about the Swanell access. We made it into the back end of the Swanell where the road recrosses into 7-38. Spent the night and came out glassing etc over the morning. Nothing but 2 skinny moose, 1 lonely goat across the river in 7-38, and a couple of beavers. Dropped 2 black bears in 7-38 on the way south to Mackenzie for fuel and Subway, then on to the Chuchinka-Red FSR crossing the Parsnip at Anzac (thanks again to the red D-max guys) enroute to 7-23C Table river. Saw 1 moose on the way to the BIG ditch where the culvert used to be around 78 km. Spent the night and came out slow, walking the grassy slopes along the tracks etc. 1 wolverine sighted on the road. 0 bears of any type. Down to Bear Lake, across to the Muskeg and down the Salmon (another blackie gave us the slip) to home at 13:00 today.

Was Vern the guy that was Parked in the middle of the road all weekend at 40km in a Superduty that looked rented ... that left all his fuel like an idiot on his flatdeck quad trailer while he was gone ..

Ya I was there Saturday triing to get in there

Does leaving your fuel in camp make you an idiot? I think lots of us are guilty!

no but leaving it on your trailer in the middle of the road not even strapped down to slow down thieves or in a box of some sort is a good way for it to be liberated .... He had to know that people are coming up that road as there was a patch at 34 km that had obvious tire tracks (a set of mine from a week prior as thats how far we got) and a couple others plus his

We saw a lot of country. I'd like to hit the west end of 7-39 in early June when the schedule works out one year.

My schedule is full for the rest of the spring, maybe next year. No pics, we were in moving quickly to hit Mackenzie for fuel. One was around 5', the other maybe 5 1/2'. 14:00 dropped the first one, 14:50 us and meat rolling again, 15:00 #2 goes down, 16:00 rolling again. Lots of blackies along the east side of the Williston Reservoir from 12:00 to 21:00 every day.

I got to meet trapman and hammerhead today as they were passing through on their way up to 7-40 for their grizz hunts. By the looks of those 2 the bears may be in trouble.
