Oldtimer takes a nice cinamon!

So Oldtimer, The Beast and myself headed out for our second bear excursion of the year. Couple hours friday night was fairly unproductive but the little bit of sign we did see was quite a bit higher than i was expecting so a different area was chosen for Saturday. We headed out around noon going up to about the 3500 foot mark, 3 or 4 hours up there had a few small bear sightings so we decided to head out and bomb across and try the other face of the mountain we were on. As often happens, driving between areas we ran into bears on the roadside. As we came around a bend in the road there were 2 bears both the same size, one black and one cinamon, pretty early for rutting so i suspect they were probably siblings. Oldtimer piled out and shot the cinamon, bear went about 50 yards. Surprisingly this was the first color phase bear he can ever remember shooting in 40+ years hunting.

BW....you should a heard the smack talk goin on between him and Michael about who was gonna shoot the bigger bear this year!!! Michael definately got the bigger bear, but oldtimers was obviously a nicer lookin bear with that cinamon coat. As for me shooting one, it would have to be a pretty big bear before I'd drop the hammer i think, and even then I'd probably let Michael take it anyway.....I'm just as happy running the camera these days!!

Thanks guys for the congrats. Had a couple of good days with Chris and Michael, and yes Michael is getting into the "talk " about biggest. He definitely has me on that score but he was the first one to admit mine was " purtier " :)
