This should probably be in the out of province category, but no one will see it there so I'll put it here. I shot this guy on May 13 with my Tikka T3 lite 6.5x55 shooting 140 grain Nosler Partitions. I got him in the Peace River area of northern Alberta and he squares out at 5'2".

he squares out at 5'2".

5'2"? That must be a really long barreled rifle.

nice colored bear.

Man!

The Nosler bullet did a REAL NUMBER on him, eh?

Hit him like the Hammer of Thor. :-/

How long did it take him to drop?

Cool color!!

Those extra cool colored bears don't usually live long.

I saw a similar colored bear a few yrs ago but never got a shot off. He wasn't huge but would have squared in the 6' range.

sweet looking bear , i have often wondered where the law is drawn in bc re kermode definitions . if i shot that exact bear in region 2 or 8 or 3 would it be legal or would a co confiscate it and label me a poacher ?? i know its not white , but lets face it white { being defined as the TOTAL absence of color } doesnt exist much in nature . sorry for the hijack if it is being read as one , i just dont feel confident in the laws re the defining of the " white color phase " of black bear. again nice bear .

For those of you questioning size, yes the hide went 5'2". May not look it in the picture but it is. And to answer Gumsehwah's question, he folded up and dropped right there and then got up, ran 30 feet, fell onto his back and did about a 10 second death moan. I know it's a small bear, but I think it's obvious I didn't shoot him for his size. And in case no one noticed but the rifle is about 3 or 4 feet behind, so no it's not "really long".

I was only messin' with you. its a great looking bear, with a dandy color. It looks just like the one I shot last year. But of course mine was bigger.;)

I love the color on that bear.
My neighbor shot a 1 year old cub in my back yard this spring that looked identical. Awesome color!
I wish I'd been able to get it a few years down the road.
Too bad the little bugger tackled one of his wifeys goats.
Hope to get one some day.......
