The BEAST takes his biggest bear to date!

Well the young fellow continues to up his own personal bar each year it seems. Took him and father out for our first bear outing of the spring. Saw several smaller bears, all very skittish then decided to head into a block that had been good to us in the past. As we pulled into the slash, almost immediately the BEAST spots a bear way down towards the back corner. Bear looks pretty good and the wind is right in our face so off we go. We slide in to about 100 yards and the kid lays out prone using a log for a rest and we settle in to watch the bear to be sure it was alone and wait for it to work its way out of some willowy stuff to present a clear shot. after about ten minutes the bear finally moved to a good position for a shot and he put a 120 TTSX through both lungs.....the bear played ring around the rosy a couple times and was down within 10 yards of where he was shot.

Rem model 7 in .260......great little gun, I'll be keeping it for myself as soon as he gets big enough for something larger!!:-D

no, he just wants to keep the skull, he's waiting for something really big, or possibly this size but color phase before he gets a rug......he knows he has MANY years to find the right bear for a rug!!

It was amazing the patience he showed. I was about 20 yards back and to the right of him and I saw lots of opportunity for a shot from my vantage point but Michael had some willows and one small pine that he didn't feel comfortable with so he waited. Excellent training by Chris. NOW if we can just convince Michael to get a Haircut !!
