trying to get a new hunter their first bear, I was at Nevertouch the fall after the fire and am thinking the area should be about right. I know the surrounding area is good, but what I don't know is timing. Would next week mid week be too early? Any help would be great thanks, Steve.

There is a fair amount of snow there still I believe. You may want to hold off for another couple of weeks.

Why waste any time driving all that way to shoot a small bear! I'd be saving the fuel & time and hunting where the bigger bears are around the coast and mission areas only makes sense...

I wouldn't be thinking Nevertouch much before mid May this year, and I definately wouldn't drive there from Surrey, assuming that's where you're coming from. You'd be driving right through/past a tonne of good bear spots to get there....

Yep, still snowed in for sure. It's about 4500 feet there. No grass growin' for a month or so.

I have hunted that area quite a lot over the last 25 years and haven`t seen a lot of black bears in that area.Mind you I am only there in the fall for a couple weeks.Like others said stay on the coast.
