Coolers????

So we are thinking on getting a couple new coolers, one for the boat and one for the camping/hunting trip.

I was looking through the latest Cabelas catalogue and there is a bunch of choices, Yeti, Coleman, Yukon (by igloo), Igloo and Cabelas Outfitter Series.

Prices for a 70 quart range from $73 for a Coleman Xtreme Marine up to $379 for a Yukon:eek:
Prices for a 100/120 quart range from $105 for the Xtreme Marine up to $469 for a Yeti

The most expensive ones were the 250 quart Yukon for $750 and the 432 quart for $650.

Are the expensive ones (really friggin expensive.....) that much better that the old style Coleman Xtreme.

Use will be up to a week while camping/hunting and a couple/three days for marine (for fish storage).

I got one of the extreme and it does it for me.Last year i used it in pretty hot 8 days and it had still ice at the end.I just had it in the shade with a blanket on.Spent the money on some beer to put in it.Cheers

Check out the weights of those expensive ones. Heavy suckers. Check out craigslist for great deals that pop up. Got a 180 dollar cooler, mint shape for 50 bucks.

Don't waste your money on the Yeti. I have both a Yeti and the Costco one and after a week in Sept hunting weather my Costco one did better and like was said for less than 1/2 the price.

Colemans for me. I find the newer models with the tighter lids to be good. If a person remembers they are a cooler not a fridge and starts off with his stuff cold they work well.
