So my wife and I are thinking about heading up to either Yukon or Alaska, or visit both, to do some camping, hiking, and fishing. We have a canoe so are looking for places that are good with a canoe or good from shore. Where are some specific places that people would suggest? We would like to catch trout, walleye or salmon.

Catch will likely be Char, Grayling and Pike. Salmon once you get to an ocean feeder.

Muncho is supposed to be good for lake trout from shore before the ice is completely gone. Lots of creeks and rivers to try all the way between Tetsa and Whitehorse for grayling. Take a fly rod if you've got one. You should plan on spending at least one night at Liard Hotsprings as well.

once your in the yukon teslin river , little atlin lake , tarfu and snafu are small lakes with pike up to 25lb and lake trout or grayling. head to skagway,ak for salmon, hard with only a canoe, but you could take the train up the pass and it drops off at the head of some nice hiking trails. would highly recomend this option

Went to the Yukon last year, many good ideas above couldn't get my wife to leave the Liard Hotsprings, good fishing at Muncho Lake, although had much better success at Tagish and Little Atlin, big lakers, big pike
