Was up the Skagit Valley on Tues. One small pile o' poop on a side road, low down between Silver Lk and Hope. Anything over about 600m elevation still had snow, Skunk Cabbage is coming up though.....

When I posted the picture I thought the bear looked a little too fat for a spring bear. Wouldn't be suprised if the North Shore News used a file photo for the story of the bear sighting. They probably don't know a spring bear is usually a little skinnier in the spring.

Co-worker came across a blackie sow and two tiny cubs on the 17th here in 7-33 and another co-worker who is also a trapper came across fresh medium size grizzly tracks on his trapline mid-February during a chinook we were having in 7-45 :)

On CHBC Kelowna, last night, a report of a grizzly spotted by a jogger, in Knox Mt Park . The guy who spotted it claims to know the difference between blacks and grizzes. Lots of development in that area, unless the bear likes a long swim across the lake we'll probably have more sightings soon. Sorry I'm not computer savvy enough to give a "link", but it should be easy for some one to make it happen.

was out around salmon arm with a buddy the other day and saw the most beautiful bear ive ever seen. Was only about 5 footer but the coat on it was amazing. Dark chocolate brown and thick thick coat. Sat and watched him for about 10 minutes but decided to let him walk due to size.

i saw my first last night, just a lil 3 1/2ish footer, my amature guess was a lil boar just booted from mamas side??? i stalked him to about 25-30 yards just fer fun....my buddy i was with had never seen a bear up close before so i said lets go lol. had a real good stare down with him before he took off into the thickets. Would have been a good pic but of course i left my phone in the truck with all the excitement........Damn it!!
