I should try Spider. Quennell is getting a re-vamp of the Ritten rd. launch in early fall.

Water is warming up fast, they are starting to fight real good now.
This one last year was caught pre-April and cold water temps made the fight feel like a ball of weeds.

I use Rapala X-rapp in trout color, and gold spinner baits.

When the dog days of summer hit, I switch to top water poppers in the lilly pads.

I haven't caught a lot of bass....but those smallies look like monsters to me. Would love to try them with poppers on a flyrod.

My best last year on a fly rod was 3.5 lbs. quick striping a mouse. Lot's of fun.

Tons of fun, I got a 6.5 pounder outta shawnigan on a tiny bumble bee fly that sits on the bottom. Size 10 I believe, and they are an amazing fight on a 6/7wt rod

Yup there are some big Bass in there, and a little farther north is Vaseaux Lake, which has some real monster Largemouth!
Some say, and I wouldn't disagree, that Osoyoos might be home to B.C. record holders for both Small and Largemouth.

Havent fished Quenell in years used to camp there lots and fish smallies. That lake holds some nice smallmouth and cutties, my best was 5lbs always fished wine colourd worm retrieved slowly on the bottom deadly. Great pics 358.

Going out this afternoon to try a new soft plastic frog by GULP.
If not, top water should be working by now.

Caught a nice 3-4 lb smallie in Quennel on Sunday. Was having most luck on a 3 inch grub (green with red flake). Soft plastics always seem to work best but it's way more fun catching them on crank baits. Always hit those harder.

I'm relatively new to bass fishing having been only 5 years here in the Creston valley but I love how they hit a lure. I fish Duck Lake, the Creston Valley Wildlife Management area, and a lake owned by our local Rod and Gun club(Mawson lake). So far I've had some luck with the Texas rig(either blue or green) and the best is a weird looking rubber thing I ran a good sized jig head through. I plan on trying flies on them because I think that would be blast, I've got a deerhair mouse pattern I'd love to try tying.

jtred. If duck lake has frogs, try a hoola popper. Let it sit more than pop. Keep it close to the lilly pads.

Weathers been a little unstable here in the Ok. but still the odd good one... Got a 5 1\2 Largie on Osoyoos the other day... went out yesterday and got shut out. Well kind of, 8 incher didn't count. Havn't hooked a smallie in a few weeks... Might change that tomarrow. Like the colors on them Island fish... all my smallies have next to no vertical bars on them, just a big o'l golden block of goodness.

I haven't fished up there in a number of years....I've heard it can get pretty busy up at the north end??

Fishing is slow... went with another HBC member yesterday and pounded he water hard, only came up with about half a dozen between the two of us. The guy I was with is a bass magnet and he couldn't believe how slow it was. Oh well on the other projects for a couple of days.

And yes it can get pretty busy up there, actually it's getting busy just about everywhere now... far from the days of being the only boat throwing a line out.
