I hate to brag but... My daugther got her firt grouse today. We were looking for a spike moose in a spot where I've seen a few before as the season ends soon. Well, no moose so on the way home we went to our little grouse spot, it was getting dark pretty quickly with the gray skies we had today but she spotted one in a tree branch overhanging the old trail we were on. One shot with the .410 and she had her 1st. Now if I can only get her to her first deer next weekend...

Here is a pic of the happy huntress. By the way snow near Kelowna starts at 1100 meters of elevation!

Good for her, I've been trying to get my son into his first Grouse, this year they just seem way spookier?? Still trying. I can't wait till my little girl wants to come!!

Fatherhood it's priceless, My 12 yr old got his JR Licence this yr and the glow in his eyes was .... no words can explain it.... Congrats ....good shooting..

Thanks folks! My 12 year old daughter actually has shot AT a half a dozen but she just wont keep her cheek on the stock. Shot goes all over except on the bird, she must take after her old man...

great job-but whats even better was the fact you are building relationships......any grouse/deer/moose is a bonus

Went out on Sunday with both my girls and the youngest one got her first grouse too. She was pretty proud of herself! Now if I can only find a buck for the eldest...

Looks like it was a double whammy! She got a grouse and you got some memories!
