I've got a fairly new grizzly and thinking about getting some nastier tires as the stock ones do well, but when it comes to up north, well you know! I thinking of having two sets, one for cruising the gravel roads close to home with the family but I need some business tires, don't want to snap axles either, we tend to go up where the 'keg is thick like grease, the guy at the yammy store mentioned "mud-lites", so just seeing whats working for everyone. 8)

Bear claws on mine. Not really overly aggressive. But they sure work good for me.

Yup. I have mud lites and they are great. They are a light weight tire and wear well. They are a pretty aggresive tire but not a full fledge mud tire.

Did you guys go with stock sizes or did you upgrade to a 26 or 27? and also do they wear rapidly and do you get a few seasons out of them?

If you want to go places in the mud then get either the stock size or maybe one size up, on your stockers. If it was me i'd either get mud-lites or mud bugs. I don't think if you will be casually working the quad you will have any problems with the axles. But since you have a big bike ( a 650) I would be careful of the super swamper vampires and the mudzillas because they are known for their axle ripping qualities as well as there mud abilities. If it was me I'd go for the bugs or the lites, both are excellent tires.

I have Bear claws on my 450 honda and they wear like iron.

My dad just bought himself a set of Swamp Lites and they are a heck of a nice tire too.

Oops sorry I don't live in a bog, if you need to get that far up mo natures skirt buy a backhoe, it can really tear the shat out of environmentally sensitive eco systems.

i can hook you up.....- if you have big power then you can go with larger tires. if you have regular power ie. 400cc and under then stay stock but use a better tread.

I've got a fairly new grizzly

I'd say go with 26" mud lites or mud bugs the mud lites ride a little nicer but I think the bugs chew harder in the mud. They are also just about the same price.

Sounds like the lites are the way to go, my buddy has them and they seem pretty awesome, is the wear good or is it the case of who cares?

I would not go with the Mud Lites..my personal expericne with the Mudlites was not good..wore quick and they are very soft..know of a few ppl with multiple holes and punctures in brand new lites(within first 100 kms of riding)..most over rated tire in my opinion and they dont even do well in mud or snow..I would go with 26 inch Mudbug personally or The Outlaw MST

I have 3500 k on my lites and they still have lots of tread. They wear surprisingly good. I ride hard rocky shaly crap with sharp rocks and hard dirt mixed in . Good tires. Go get em. I have 26s out back and 25s up front(honda rubicon)
