What kind of tripod would you recommend for a 80mm swarvo?

I use a Leupold for my 65 Swarovski. It is a lot less expensive than Swarovski's tripod and I think maybe a little more stable. It weighs in a 2.6 lbs. I suppose that one could drill out some holes in the legs to take out some metal, althought that is aluminium, but the heaviest part is the scope mount head and it would be pretty hard to remove metal out of that.
Anything lighter wobbles with the slightest breeze.

K&K is what Ive got. Light, strong, and it's got a pistol grip head. Do a search on google for them.

I am selling this carbon fibre one, super stable and about 2 lbs without head. http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/van/pho/2940810238.html

Trades welcome...

A little more on the Leupold that I have. Fully collapsed and it it's case, 14 inches. Viewing height varies from 15 to 32 inches. As previously stated, it weights 1.18 kg or 2.6 lb. Comes with a quick release mount that is universal. My swarovski clips right in. It would handle the 80 right nicely.

I use a manfroto compact with my 80mm swaro and it works great

I up graded my tripod this year. I spent a lot of time reading reviews, going out and meeting other hunters and photographers looking for the best bang for the buck... I have a Swarovski 65mm, 20x60 ... Weight was a very big issue for me, you might want to move up to the heaver size up for the added weight of the scope. The lighter tripod will be less stable in the wind, but you can hang weight off the bottom, to fix that. I use a small bag that my sleeping pad go's in and fill it with rocks. Here are two brands that I liked.
Gitzo's tripods are top quietly, with a price to match. Better built.

Slik are well made, with a better value, still built strong.
