So here's my story...

I've decided to get myself started in hunting this year. Bought the shotgun, bought the waders and all the gear... problem... no one to show me the ropes.

I'm a couple years new to BC and don't yet know a soul who duck hunts in the region. All my buddies hunt big game. Not a one is into waterfowl hunting and it's something I have always wanted to get into. I know it's very early in the off season but I thought I would start early and see if there's anyone out there who would be willing to take on a rookie and help me get started. Somehow I thought this would be much easier to get into.

Thanks everyone.

Matt

Definitely cant do any harm to spend some time on the skeet range over the summer. And maybe start learning how to call - go to a local park with a duck pond and listen to the types of sounds they make!

Thanks 870... I will for sure.

I've been at the range quite a bit trying to break up those little clay birds. Takes a bit of practice. Good idea about the calling too. I'll have to look around town and find a good pond and get a good listen for the sounds.

Thanks for all the good advice.

Find Campbell Valley Park on 16th ave, lots of ducks to talk to, and if you be on the market for a great lab pup I got half a dozen for sale. Get back in touch when the season opens, we would be happy to take you out.
