good job so far steve, looks like they just finished doing a paint job on the boat.
are you allowed, if presented with an oppertunity on that 10 6' er. to take it. if not the footage would be cool. hell at least it would give ya something to do in that lil town.
sure must get a little boring sitting and waiting for the weather to clear.

'Air hunting' would be a HOOT!!..lol...we actually dont have sleds , nothing.Getting dropped off with snow shoes , backpacks. These guys have a rep of being quite 'nasty' for physical punishment.
I'm the camera guy so no pressure for me..but what a ride to be along on ! These bears are beyond big by a fair margin. There is a handfull of full mounts around town in buisiness's and standing next to em is crazy.
I'll post a few more pics. Weather is f-ing nasty , Kodiak 'city' is more like Kodiak 'village'...waitting for weather day 3.

Sounds serious. Never seen on that big but a 10+" bear hide has gotta weigh 150 lbs wet, maybe more. A serious load.

Who gets to pack it out?

Cut it in half, lengthwise or across?

You guys should play a nasty joke on your buddy if he gets one down, ask him if he wants the stitches down the forhead or across the body. That'll get em worked up. Did that to a hunter one time and he just about lost it.

Started off with 3 'attempts' to fly , never scrared that bad in a bush plane...landed , 'surprise' 4 mile hike ( YES FOUR) with ALL our shit..duffels , packs , pack ON my pack , snowshoes , hip waders , 50mile winds. JUST to get to camp. The bay was frozen solid for the first time in 17 years...:evil::evil:..wanted to comit suicide..slush and ice ,total combined weight with body /shit around 375 to 400lbs...(pulling duffel on frikkin walmart kiddy sleigh and the meat order for camp)..but we got er done...

And if you had to pack that much IN, I can't imagine the pack OUT!

Joel had a bear tag.I was video guy! You are only allowed 1 bear every 4 years there but can shoot one a year on the mainland. The goats were unreal on Kodiak.A guy could shoot a 6 pack of goats by lunch daily and even have drop on a beach ! No wolves = mega goats/deer. the beach is littered with deer at low tide eating kelp. HUGE 'bear poops with a DEER in em everywhere. Quite the place!
You want to shoot a Kodiak brown , you better have a spare 'house' to put em in !!

I actually got it in Alabama for a killer deal from a store who is sponsering us ( a bit). I dont trust anything but HH for water proof. The Sitka pants/jacket were for under garment , had 1 Sitka rain jacket that worked well.
The Alaskan guides ( toughest humans on earth) also had HH.
