Some real cool shots there Steve, were you shed hunting or working?

Just out hiking with the camera. Earlier in the winter I had cut a lion track coming out of that creek draw and I had a good guess she would be denned up in one of the caves around there. I was hoping for a potential photo opt. When I dropped down into the draw I cut her fresh track with a couple sets of small kitten tracks with her. That was only about a hundred metres from that cave. I also cut a bear track coming out of that draw that was fairly sizable. Some good denning sites in that draw.

Should have tracked down that bear, or was it before April 1st?

Was in March. I don't know if I really wanted to track that bear as it was concrete hard packed snow and yet he was leaving a track. Hard to read but it could have been made by a grizz. I have bumped grizz in that area before. As you can tell from the lion track pic, it is was made when she had mud on her feet from crossing the creek back and forth. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had a clue she was so close too.
