Wondering about using the 120gr Barnes TTSX in my 280 Rem. for moose. Or would it be a little on the lite side.

I'd think the 120TTSX would hammer a moose nicely enough from a 280, but I can speak from experience that a 140TTSX at 280 speeds does some wonderful things to moose!

I think it would do great at reasonable distances. At longer ranges and slower bullet speeds, it might pencil through. I wouldn't be afraid to use it.

I read a report of a guy in Alaska who got sick of people telling him you needed such and such magnum for hunting so he loaded his 7-08 with 120 TSX and on purpose sent a bullet through both shoulders of a large alaskan moose. I think it will do fine.

My son's 260 with a 120 ttsx sent a bullet completely through a bull elk lengthwise......you will have no problem with your set-up on moose.

I think someone here put a 110ttsx through a moose from a .270 a couple years ago

I like the speed you get out of the light bullets. My son has a new 708 and I am hoping it likes the 120ttsx. The 85 tsx out of his 243 smashes moose bone pretty good.

Load those Barnes ttsx 120's up to 3200 fps in that 280 rem and kill them dead ! A better choice would be the 140 ttsx BUT ! RJ
