A good day shed hunting

The day I had today was the way shed hunting should be. I took off early this afternoon and stopped at Timmy's for a coffee and headed to the shed zone. Rolled up a free coffee, the sun was shining and I was going hunting. Had the 223 and some coyote calls with me in case I saw a yote. Its also a nice security blanket for cat country. The area I am shed hunting is so full of deer sign that to think there isn't some cougars around would be foolish.

The day started pretty good as I found a shed minutes after being in the area I found my last one. A small guy but a start. Then I found this one. A little smaller but shining in the sun.

Right after that I found an older shed and then a really small one. No pairs at all though and I was still looking for the other two matches for the sheds I found the other day. I was feeling good and excited to see sheds but somewhat disappointed that I was finding only singles

I was pretty excited to say the least. I found the first one under a big tree where he was bedding down. After taking a few shots I went to see if I could find the match. It was in a small group of tress about 100 m away just lying there in the grass waiting for me. What a rush. Holding them together was a pretty cool feeling. Did a big loop back to the road and as I was hiking to the truck a guy stopped and gave me a ride. Great guy and a hunter so his eyes bugged out when I pulled these out from my pack. A great day and still a bunch of sheds hiding in there.
Here is how I found the first big one. I thought its cool how a 3 point branch with the exact same shape was lying right beside it.

Great pictures you are finding some good ones. It looks like you have a few more 3 point sides to find. Looking forward to your next batch. I am still waiting for some snow to melt before I can get serious.

Hey Coach, the big ones are a match set. The pic of them together in the snow is the set. They were the perfect matches for the other ones I found but these were twice the size. Seems to be a lot of 4x3 genes in this pool.
Went out for a quick hike today in an area nearby where I found the other sheds and saw a lot of wild life. Sheep, deer, dead deer, dead dogs, dead cows, dead coyote, you name it I saw it today. Found some old sheds but no new ones. The melting snow is revealing all kinds of stuff. Here are some pics from today.

Haha way better spots than the dewwy close to Kammy. One hint a spot just north of Kammy aways has narly, dark brown, thick, long tined, non-typicals, points sticking out everywhere, monster muley drops, but hey, I ain't going to tell yah on here exactly where right now. Super long main beams.
Jp .. your eyes would be poppin out, like on the ends of a slinky, hangin down and bouncing, and then you'd bang your head on a couple fir trees, and then you'd get down, and then, you'd turn around, and then after that, you'd do the boot scootin boogie, and then you'd throw your hands up in the air like you just don't care. Hey! I ain't finished yet, and then you'd wave them all around and then you'd throw yourself on the ground, and then you'd roll around.
And then you'd go to the optometrist and get those eyes put back in your face .... where they popped out of.

Its funny you say that because I went for a quick walk this afternoon just a little north of the Loops and I could not for the life of me find a shed. I did find a little something though!!!! Thought it was a 2 pointer at first but was I wrong.
