and thats why im asking, because it seems to me that it reads you must skin and take the hide of any fur bearing animal in which you kill, yet people say they whack em and stack em, kick em in a ditch..... What is the deal? am I missing something here?

Nope, if you shoot and skeedadle it is poaching, probably the most common form of poaching as a great number of hunters just leave coyotes and wolves lying! I'm guilty as the next guy as I have left one or two, now I only shoot them when they're near my chickens.

Legally, you're supposed to take them to your residence or a place of processing; after that it's up to you.
That said, when I shoot a coyote with mange, it ain't coming home with me, as the hide is worthless and I don't need to bring those mites home to my dog.

The problem is that if they have crappy fur, there isn't much you can do with them. So to comply with regs you can take the crappy fur home home and then chuck it out, or you can not comply and leave it in the bush.

Most of the guys here don't even go to look at it, but that is their business and none of mine! If you want the hide, take it. If not, let your conscience guide you!

well if you find the right people depending where you live you can sell the fir, my friend in alberta hunts them and has a sale for the hide, he has farms where he can travel to and hunt them, then sell the hide, so dont just kick them in the ditch, if your not using it, leave it alive unless its checking out your live stock,, good luck,
