Found this guy 10 min into my hike and was pretty stoked. Deer sign everywhere but 3 hr hike and nothing else. Looked for the match pretty hard but no luck. Found some massive hoof prints compared to the majority so I know there is a big boy cruising around in there. Ill go back next week when it warms up and gets rid of the last of the snow.

It is bigger than it looks in the shots.

Nice! Can hardly wait til Springtime and more shed hunting. This snow could bugger off any old time.

Nope. I am going to hike up Jamieson this weekend I think. Saw a herd of WT doe crossing the road out that way a while ago. Never been out that way for a hike.

You can't bait me Jelly. I posted a photo of my spot, what more do you wan't? You should know where to go around here with your vast knowledge of deer in the area. I went back today for a quick hike to see if I could find the match and I did!! Or did I? The right side but when I compare them its a lot smaller in diameter. I think its a different deer based on the size of the bases but I am not sure. Are the antlers usually even in width on each side or can they be quite different. The colour is a perfect match and it was in the right area. I have not handled many sheds so I am not 100% but my gut says its a different deer. It was around 250 yds away from where I found the first one. If its a different deer that means I have two more to find in the area now. What do you think? Same deer or not?
Jelvis, any time you want to go for a shed hunt with me let me know.

Nice find it looks like you have 2 more to find too match those ones up. As a general rule unless there is a deformity or a low point on one antler most matches are the same circumferences between the burr and brow. The difference between matched sets measured here is rarely over a 1/4 inch. I find this to be true with all the antlered species. These sheds are not from the same buck it looks like you found a good area there.

Thanks Mike, I will keep pounding the area to see if there are more. I'm hoping to run across a pair like in your avatar. Must have blown your mind finding those bad boys.
