Great pics guys, personally I have not got into turkey hunting yet, sure looks like a blast( pardon the pun), I have seen some posts on here and they say that the meat is not that good,if I am wrong please ,correct me, I would love to go hunting for turkeys, I think it would be quite a challenge.

Last year I shot my first bird, I deboned most of the bird, tied it together and cooked it in the slow cooker, it was awesome everyone enjoyed it. One of my favourite hunts I would recomend you try it!

All these pics and your comment just about got me pumped to go turkey hunting, they are quite majestic birds for sure.
I hunt elk in the EK and have heard turkeys gobbling and it was very out of place for me, all quiet and then the turkeys started to gobble I sat on my quad engine off bugling for elk and heard these gobbles I broke out in laughter. I Know that they are down there but in all the years that I have hunted down there I never heard one, broke me up.

I've found the meat to be great. It's addicting once you get into it. I'll try and get some video up here soon.
Can't get enough of these birds!

Wow, it sure looks cold in that second picture. ;-)
We tried turkey hunting a few years ago and had fun but it was a long way to drive for the experience. Still, if we get our house sold in the next week or so and life gets a little less hectic (a huge reason behind selling and moving) then who knows maybe I can convince a buddy to take a drive out again for another weekend.
Well I ran into a group of guys from the Queen Charlotte Islands here a couple of years ago and that shocked the hell out of me.

Well, they definitely beat us for distance. We're only in the lower wasteland. We tried our luck around Grand Forks and Christina Lake and of course saw lots of off-season deer. The fall before we saw lots of off-season turkeys and the white flag waving good bye to us .
Ah, yes, isn't that the way it goes? There are quite a few in that area.
A few years back.

It seems to be taking FOREVER !!!
I am sure some one will step up and get the competition going again. Hint...hint.
I have had some bad luck the last couple of years so I am changing my strategy. Look in some other place for starters and hunt the evenings.

At least you know they are there.
I will be "up there" tomorrow if the weather is good but I'll be coming back before noon to go skydiving.
