Region 8 July/August Coyote Closure.

Was just looking through the regs for region 8 and i was wondering why they would close coyotes for the months of July and August. I thought these things were scavengers and needed to be dealt with accordingly.

In Region 4 they are closed from April 1 to Sep 10...

I believe that the reason being is the general public does not want to observe/hear/know that "pups" are being killed...Even though this is the best time to slim down the population...The pups are dumb as stumps.....

Other regions have No CLosed Season and No Bag Limits...

If we want to thin the herd, we need consistancy across the province...

I agree with you. The general public needs to realize that those cute, cuddly looking pups are not going to be cute and cuddly for long and will soon pose a problem themselves.

I think also good summer weather means hikers are out, people camping just more activities in the outdoors so more chance of accidents.

They close Coyotes in the summer to force us to go bass fishing instead. Darn eh!
