Started out as a twelve day hunt a friend and I went on, and only turned into a couple of days. The weather was hot and the sheep weren't moving that much.
First day we ended up not even seeing a sheep. As the next day came we woke to an even wormer day, not good for sheep. That evening we ended up seeing a band of 35 sheep and no rams in sight. Being from Alberta is was really a change having the mountain to yourself.

On the third day we were just getting ready to leave camp for the day when we saw some sheep working there way to us from another mountain. Rams, 5 of them with a couple of shooters.

As they worked there way to us Chris turned and said do you want to try and get one with your bow, you can imagine what I said.. As a die hard bowhunter and never before shooting a big game animal with a rifle I chose not to try with the bow even though I packed the bow on this trip and he brought the gun..
Now it was time to figure out who would shoot first. Being as he was new to sheep hunting and I took him with me I thought it was self explanitory..
Well after some thought I came up with rock, paper, scissors. Having never really played it before I was up for a good game of chance..
On three, I eneded up wining that round and was pretty exited. He is like ready, I am thinking for what. He says again best of three right.. I didn't understand.. So again we went. He won, and again he won. I wasn't sure who won what but I did know I won the first one. He let me know he won.. My heart sank but there were 5 sheep so it wasn't over.
I lasered them now at 300 yards feeding broadside. He asked how far and I told him 300 straight up. The first shot was high, and the ram lifted his head and looked around. Again I said, you were high, BOOM, high again. Now I am thinking what is going on!!!
The sheep never even lifted his head that time. I found it odd that they really showed no interest in what was going on. There was a wall behind his sheep and I thought for sure the bullet must have bin smacking it..
The third shot dropped him, he just folded right there and never moved and the other sheep took off. He sat up really exited.I shook his hand grabbed his gun and ran 600 yards straight up. Hardest run of my life. I gave him the range finder and he must have set it down somewere because half way up he said were is the range finder.... Back he went as I pressed on.Remember his gun only holds three shells.
So I get up were I could see the sheep and they are looking straight at me. I then notice there was no shells in the gun and just then we meet. Now for the life of me I couldn't get a shell in that gun...Must have bin all the running..The sheep were moving around and I new the one I wanted. I said how far, Chris replied 340. Before you knew it my sheep was down.It was kinda like in the sheep shows how he rolled. Seemed like forever..Something I will never forget.

Here are the two of them together on the mountain, and I tried with everything I had to get them both together for a feild shot, but it wasn't happening..
