PERFECT...home from knee surgery to find my elusive Tat LEH DALL SHEEP TAG...sheeesh

it is hunt #6030 in region 6-28 august 1-oct 31 2012.

had the same draw 2 years agoi and went way too late moose, grizzly and even caribou but no sheep did we see, weather was exceptionally bad,, snow storms and constant wind... a good day was merely rain...lol

looking for information on closest pilots/planes?? am going to do this solo.. as Tim has other plans that involve moose later on..the knee may screw this up or just slow it down..

Again any pms with information would gladly be recieved and held in strictist confidence.,

cheers

Steven

We flew with Alpine Aviation out of Whitehorse, there phone number is 867-668-7725. They were just getting a Maule aircraft for short takeoffs when we flew. That plane might help you get into some tight spots. There is some tough country in that zone, keep us posted on your plans. I am totally jealous of you. Have a great trip, the scenery is unbelievable but the sheep are sparse.

50 other people found that elusive tag in their mail. The only thing elusive there, are the white colored sheep.

Good luck Steve! You're gonna need it!

Good luck Steve. Hit the physio and the diet! Thats supposed to be some rough country. There was a guy flying out of Atlin a couple years ago spoke to him on the phone seemed like a nice guy.

lol Thanks Dave..I should rephrase that... much easier to get that LEH tag and at least be eligible for a Dall sheep plan B needs $12k plus for a guided hunt the $12k is much more elusive,,,,,

150 pounds to lose and a couple of thousand miles on the treadmill once the knee starts to improve..how hard can it be..??it all starts somewhere..

We were up there last year and saw lots of sheep in different spots just glassin for griz and moose . I'm told and had seen them from a distance that the hot spot is right behind the guide outfitters main lodge =theirs a horse quad trail that goes quite a ways back ! There's a cabin to stay in thats first come first serve just past the guides camp down the highway= we got some pics of 13 sheep with 2 rams right above the cabin on the back side of the hill ! Sure wish we had tags ! Going to put in for next year ! =there's so much country and so many animals !

Get some glue-on toe caps for your boots, Steven.
Those are some nasty rocks in the "pit".

I was in Rome Italy a few years ago and lost 14lbs in 5 days from walking and eating nothing but fruit, I hated the food in Rome so fruit was it for me. Steve you can lose the weight, probably 40-50 over the summer and another 20 while on that hunt. Good luck and I hope it goes well...Brad

I'm going to use it for inspiration to "try" to kill a good ram this year using just my boots.

Thanks! As I get older I need more inspiration.
