sure this is a million times asked question but looking for a cheap but accurate little range finder...Needs no crazy things up to 500Yards would be probably far enough? I dont plan on sniping things from A million miles away nor do i care if i can range something 1.2 Miles away lol. Is the Tasco a semi decent piece? Just dont want it to be inaccurate or leave me hanging dying on me.

Those 2 words never go together,,,cheap and accurate,,, I use a Lieca 1200 and it was $489.00 on sale at Cabella's Canada. Ranges hair out to 1150 or so.

The whole point of a range finder is accuracy. I have a very small Leupold Rx1000 with a 6x magnification. Other than a rifle scope, it's the only optics I carry it's so clear. So for the cost of a set of Binos and a rangefinder, the Leupold is a bargain.

Just picked up a Leica CRF 900. Incredibly bright and clear optic, strong laser and waterproof. I like its red illuminated readout. I got a range of 964 off it on a small shed the other day. You can usually find them for around the $350 range.

Marko, I got a Bushnell Legend 1200 Arc, it'll range anything you'd be willing to shoot, is reliable and compact,
and it's worked perfectly for me for the last two hunting seasons. Best bang for the buck, $250 through Amazon!

I have the bushnell fusion 1600, I bow hunt alot so having a binuclar that can find the range was awesome. Should be able to get a rangefinder for under 400 that has hat your looking for, Bushnell or leuplod are the best.

fool and money goes together anywhere that people think that the more they spend the better it must be lol.

You can get a decent bushnell for $150 $250 on a sale price for what you are looking to do with it.
The other thing is to practice with it , practice off of reflecting objects ,trees and animals , if for some reason the animal isnt giveing you feedback pick the item beside them could be a tree etc .
practiceing also allows you to get better at judgeing distance without the rangefinder.

Get what you need and not what another person wants.

I have a Bushnell Elite 1500. Keep in mind that you can expect it to range almost everything quickly up to about 1/2 its stated max range. I can get out to 1500, but only on large reflective targets like bill boards and wind socks. Also large buildings out of direct sun. Comparing with my brother's Leica 1600 it seems mine is better at ranging through brush to a decent target beyond, but his will range out to 1800+ on very reflective targets. Search online for Leopold reviews before buying.
