This is my first Damascus knife
the handle is Wild African Olive
brass guard and brass pin
hollow grind
its at about58-59RHC
i don't know why but i just love damascus, to me it is a work of art making it and the random pattern is my favourite.
not finished the sheath or plaque yet but i am working on it.
what do ya think?

Looks awesome. Is it a full tang? Where did you get the supplies? The randomness of the the pattern is incredible which is the same reason I look to make furniture and do woodturnings with different woods.

Ya its pretty small, thats what my wife says about 12 inches too..;)
this knife is a hidden tang, i get my knife supplies from everywhere, all across the U.S. and Canada if your going to make as many knives as i do you should shop around, lots of places in the U.S. are cheaper even with shipping, i have actually even got some stuff from Japan (handle materials) the handle on this knife was a solid piece i carved out, i had it for some time and just finally decided this knife would look good with it.
i get my heat treating done from KNIFEMAKER in Alberta.

I like Bowies AND Damascus - This is a perfect marriage imo.

My only nit is that the handle looks a little 'blocky'.
But that's me...

That damascus steel looks better in a knife than a barrel, Daryll.

i have been playing around with some damascus for the last couple months now, although it is supposed to be a superior knife steel because of the qualities of carbon and stainless that go into them it requires more care than other "normal" knife steels, after use it should be dried completely and then as soon as possible it needs to be oiled.
but all said and done boy is Damascus beautiful, IMO

Beauty knife ! I love the damascus too ! Like a fingerprint ,no two are alike .I could never have a knife like that unless I hang it on the wall because I would probably forget to oil it and it would be a rusty mess .That is a piece of art and would look good on display .
