It's about 500 miles from PG to Ft. Nelson, which is mile 300 of the Alaska Hwy....Liard hotsprings are at about mile 500, so another 200 miles past Ft. Nelson...about a total of 700 miles, or around 1100 km.....and worth the trip! :)

From the point as soon as you cross the Nechako River heading north out of PG, 1117 km 13 hours and 10 minutes no including stops.

How can you do that tour with no stops??? some sort of critters going to get you to jam the breaks on and have a looky at it.

It's 9 days by bicycle, and Steamboat mountain is a real nasty hill to climb on one, but the scenery is awesome from the east side of the 'hill' to the Springs.

I have done it a couple times without stopping, it's easy. Get off work on a friday at 4pm, on the road by 4:30 and hunting by 2pm the next afternoon, it leaves time for part of the hike in to where you are going hunting.

The time of 13:10 is driving time not factoring in the stop times.

Fireguy's time is 17:30. This is factoring in a coffee here and a coffee there and a pee break here and a pee break there. Maybe even a little shuteye to knock the nods off.

Don't forget to stop at Muncho Lake, this area from Fort Nelson to the hotsprings and beyond truly is spectacular

Definitely stop at Muncho and say hi to my buddy Jack at Double G Service....first spot as you get to Muncho.
He can be a grumpy ol' bugger but he makes great breakfasts, bread, and cinnamon buns!!

But beware of the Double G if you want fuel. He is the biggest rip off on the Alaska Hwy. and should be ashamed of himself for gouging people like that.
