While sheep hunting, what is the hat of choice to keep you warm and dry? Must be warm enough for a September hunt and light enough for a backpack hunt. Just looking for some ideas.

I have a Sitka beanie that worked pretty good... light enough you barely notice it, warm enough to keep you comfortable, easy to store in a pocket when not needed. I also have a Gore-Tex outback type hat that I wear when it's raining, or when I need some protection from the sun while glassing...

I wear a sitka hat and use a sitka beanie under it for the cold times. Good combo.

I wear a blaze orange U/A "Blitz" cap. Keeps the light out of my eyes, wicks moisture, keeping me feeling warmer & dryer. Plus, other hunters can see me. Colder days I wear a U/A or Carhartt toque.
