I usally do that hanging from a tree as well, its easy as long as you have the right knot tier! Nice elk though!

I've never tried that, but how do you attach the rope to the hide without tearing when you giv'er?

u put a golfball or a flat rock or somethin like that on under the hide and tie the rope around that.....

That's pretty cool ..... slip a simple noose on the rock and it will NEVER slip off.

I'm with carl though. I like knives and i enjoy working with them :):):):)

Wow, cool. Never heard of that one. Looks like it works well. Does it work better/worse on a fresh kill, or cooled off a bit?

ya it's more of a novelty. we do this with a winch or backing the truck up.
it works on cold or fresh animals. it's a beer in one hand and camera in the other way of skinning. i don't bother with a little deer. but big mulie, elk, moose. i will do it this way, just for fun.

I have seen this done on deer it looks pretty cool. Definately a good way to describe is beer in one hand and camera in the other.

ps. where did you get the mullet hat it is awesome and I need one really badly.

it's halloween season so i picked up some $2.98 fake hair extensions at walmart. cut them down to the sweet length and stapled them into the back of my fav hunting hat. i was really looking for some sweet wavey mexi-mullett hair,( i'm still looking!) - nothing funnier then watching my hunting buddie running down a slash chasing after a grouse, sweet mullett flying in the wind!..that's was some funny sh#$

Superstore and Extra Foods carry them. The little lady wanted me to buy one, but I said next time, and the next time they were sold out. Business in the front, party in the back. Lmao

We tried the truck skinning technique the other day with a mulie. Wouldn't do it again because the meat gets way dirtier this way. Trust me. Yeah there is no hair but dirt will get on it as soon as it hits whatever is under it(tarp or whatever). Man I felt sorry for the butcher lol. If you can drop it on some clean poly your ok. Also we broke the left antler off!. Lucky it was just a forky. Just hang it and skin it. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier and more fun.

Use a clean tarp. and tire the rope around it's neck not the antlers. some hang it in a tree and pull it. then it never hits the ground.
