It is absolutely spellbinding to see the kind of imbeciles that frequent the CBC!Wolves are cute, caribou are not so screw them.Besides it's all the fault of the oilsands anyways, shut them down and the balance of nature will be restored!Because like Walt Disney said so and that must be right dude. Im working at the Oilsands right now and everyone sees alot more wolfs and wolf tracks than caribou. and the oil sands provide such huge economic returns that the huggers can get F****ed. Oil development will be here until there is no more oil in the ground.

Yet again another pathetic attempt by the media that for certain cannot provide any scientific information that will prove what part the wolf and G bear do to the Caribou Population.

Man has disrupted the enite eco system, be it housing, industry, hunting, development, etc etc the list goes on .

All wildlife needs to be managed to some degree, and what is showing is that what is present is not working ........ period. Hunting, wolves, disruption of habitat are not the sole reasons for the loss of Caribou. Man and predator alike are to blame ....... Predators must be managed more affectively,

This includes a more effective Wolf Kill Program in specific area's.

We have the same issues with declining caribou and exploding wolf populations and we have no oil in many of those places.

Howdy, I was checking out Gun Nutz on there poll line - seems there are a few misinformed people on that website about wolf problems - told them all to get busy and vote for the cull if they want their offsprings to be able to do a little hunting and enjoy the outdoors. Later

"I believe that if nothing else a cull should be introduced, I would however rather see longer open seasons on wolves with NBL (no bag limit) placed on them. Anyone who says wolves aren't a problem in this province is truly blind to what happens outside of their cosy city condiminums!"

What is meant by cull?
I have an idea it means no, or few restrictions on hunters to shoot them. If this is the case, the wholle thing is meaningless, because hunters can not keep an over population of wolves in check.
The ultimate cull is a poisoning program, like the great one in BC in the 1950s, that lasted several years. But this will never happen again.

Alberta is poisoning, aerial gunning and several counties have bounties on wolves. A friend of mine at Manning is getting $250 per wolf, the next county over is paying $500.
Our MOE so far thinks it is doing great by training a few trappers and opening a NCS-NBL in a small portion of the province. AS CS stated above, I wasn't aware of a limit before......

I was gong by BC, prior to the big wolf buildup that caused the poisning program, starting in 1951.
There was NCS NBL forever, and a bounty of $25 per wolf. This was more money in the pocket than $250 today. A man working in the bush was making about 8-10 dollars a day.

It will have a message on a blank page. PASTE the link into the address window or click in it, and hit CTRL V.
