Went looking for mulies on Saturday. Rode my quad to the top of a big cliff and glassed the area. There are several gullies where I've seen deer bedded before. Nothing this time so I start to walk down between the gullies hoping to spook one. Sure enough two deer jumped out and started running up the hill. The binos were up ina flash and they stopped 250 yards away looking at me. One was a doe and the other a small spike so I decide to leave him. Walk another 500 yards and a 2 point takes off running and I decide to take this one if it stops and gives me a broadside shot but no luck. I was feeling pretty good having seen some game 45 minutes of walking. Carried on down hill to another cliff and decide I want to check out the view below. Wow!! a bunch of deer bedded down in some bushes below. Most were does, three 2 points and I took a nice buck at 200 yards. What happened next, I couldn't believe. Three deer jumped up, two 4 points and a 5x5 and stood there confused before trotting off. I could only watch stunned as I had already taken mine but maybe I'll see him next year...

The drag uphill was easy with the quad..8-) hung him at camp and drank beer the rest of the evening.
