Hi all, well, we had a bit of success this weekend. My big bro bagged himself a whitetail. Not a whole lot to it. We were up at my buddys place, took a drive past the alfalfa field to a dugout trout/irrigation pond. Sat there 'til it brightened up a bit and went back above the alfalfa field. A group of 6 whitetail bucks started their journey from the field up to their bedding area. There was a couple 4 points, a spike and two 5 points in the group. He took one of the 5 points. The stupid thing was after the shot, the rest of the deer just stood there for over 10 minutes. We had to drive up and around to get closer with the truck to load him up, actually had to scare off the remaining 3 bucks ( 2 4-points and the spike ). While we were gutting him, we heard a bunch of antler crashing aways up the hill. A friend of mine also harvested a 4X4 mulie in a different area. After he shot it, it ran 50 yards downhill and died. When they went down to get it, they kicked up a MUCH bigger mulie, hope to run into him tomorrow. I have pics of my brother deer, but not my friends. Have sent them to Marc, hoping he can post them for me....computer illiterate :-( .

Yes its always nice to hunt on farms. The deer are usually not much brighter than farm raised deer either! Its deer shooting really! should be taste!

Yup, I do agree to an extent. We only shoot 4 above the brow. We always see the smaller bucks just sit there, once in a while we will give 'em a wake up call to spook them up a bit. But, even on the farm, the bigger ones are very heads-up and hard to come by. Lots of sign, see them some times at night coming down the hill. Once in a while, one of the big guys will make a mistake, but not very often.
