The tree is on my neighbours property with houses quite close. Not much of a hunt, just wait till they roost and knock one down.
North of Kaslo, lots of public land if you can call!

So you're telling me that there are turkeys north of Kaslo? How do they handle the snow there is Kaslo in a low snow belt?
I worked on the Duncan Dam and have some recollections on the area, no turkeys at that time.

Forgot. Those are nice sheep pictures.

i hope to get my first turkey this year, have seen lots this winter around castlegar and closer to trail. hope you and your girlfriend connect on a couple birds on your trip Impact.

Yes, there are Turkeys north of Kaslo!!! I have shot 3 or 4 of the annoying critters, 1 because it attacked my mom a couple times! We have had wild turkeys for about 15 years and have a spring and fall season with a 1 bird per season limit.

I'm having trouble finding them this winter. I've come across a couple while out snowshoeing/hunting for hares but I know there are huge flocks in the area. I've managed to take 4 in the last five seasons but I can't seem to find them this year, yet. I know where I'll be April 15 but it would be nice to see those big flocks around. The only consistent flock is one being fed by a landowner who I've heard is very passionate about 'his' turkeys, there are a number of people around here who treat them like pets and are very much against hunting them. I always wonder what they are eating on Thanksgiving/Christmas. I may have to buy one of those turkey vests with all the pockets if I pick up any more calls, really wish I could use mouth calls for them(and elk) but I can't get over the feeling of gagging as soon as I use one.
