Well here we go FINALY. Had a bit of a camera disaster seems I am a very hard man on them, so here we go with "yesterdays" news. Thurs and Fri I scouted my old reliable field and sure enough they were there in good numbers. The blind had been built in enuff time to let them get used to it and it was working with birds landing around it. Set the deeks late Fri evening after they had vacated the field for the saftey of the lake. in the blind 3/4 of an hr. before shooting light and waited.....and waited then as if on cue right at 9am they filled the sky calling and flying in flocks ranging from pairs to 2 or 3 doz. they were everywhere...... everywhere except over my field. geese to the left geese to the right but nothing within range. Finally around noon an HUGE(14lbs3oz) old grandaddy came over the blind and died. I am still not sure whether it was from the bbs I tossed at it or old age cuz that is the toughest critter I have ever encountered. Im sure the sausage grinder will fix that tho. Packed it in anhr latter with nothing more to show. But we take the not so good with the great and at least it wasnt a skunk.:)

Sunday I decided to try the night flight. While setting the deeks about 4pm got a crack at a single and there was one in the bag then again NOTHING. about 10 min to the end of shooting light started breaking down when shots rang out across the marsh and a flock took off down the marsh all except i loner who belined right over head and with 5 min left legal the second of the day was in the bag. Better than Sat. but not by much, there will be some serious scouting thru the week and hopefully the geese wont win next weekend. :-D
