Must be snared.

You win the cigar!

This bear killed a cow and calf and chew up two more in the same attack. Lays caught him in a foot snare and his killing days ended. He was a little upset when the photo was taken.

I don't have many more pics that were taken by the digital but I'll dig up a few more and take pictures of pictures like some of these are eventually.

Good job on the wolves and very interesting pics of the damage the grizzlies do to the cows.
Cattle killing must often be a learned behaviour for gizzlies.

And I believe you now that ranching must be rough, 'cause all you can afford is an Acrtic Cat.:icon_frow Or is that just to get sympathy?

Gcreek that is some sweet action!
How are you hunting the wolves on your farm? Baiting or calling them in or shooting them in the cattle fields?

The NDP are trying to end the mode that most of us in this area use to get wolves. Most of the wolves we shoot are on a bait that is 150 yds. from our kitchen window. The bait is buried before the grizz wake up in order to not train them to be cattle killers. Kind of a futile effort as a couple of neighbors leave their deads in a pile and the bears head there first thing in the spring. The authorities have chosen to ignore this practice even though it has been brought to their attention several times.

Great job, gcreek! Thanks for posting these pictures. In addition to everyone doing their part to control predators, photographing the destruction they do to both domestic and wild animals is going to be key to pushing back against the anti's and the NDP.

Keep up the good work! Hopefully your neighbors figure things out soon. You can bet the authorities would care If they did the same thing closer to an urban environment.

Maybe you should invite Mr. Dix out for some real-life education. Maybe get him to open his mind.If that doesn't work, add him to the bait pile.;-)

Love the pictures and a small taste of the issues you face.

Hunting affects all of us and as of now, it's lacking; We need more people spending more time in Bush Country.

You're welcome, there has likely been another 50 wolves die here since those days. Don't really bother to take photos of them any more.

We are now short over $400,000 worth of cattle since 2003. Government still not stepping to the plate seriously over the issue for any prey animals. Sad situation for all of us who like or depend on crown areas.

I send mad respect your way. You could just sit back and complain about choices by governments about predators. But u try and do something about it. In my mind you are the definition of what a hunter is. Nothing is more rewarding and tougher then hunting animals that hunt.

I agree...great job, I'm going to get out as much as possible this winter...all my partner and I had to show for it last year was a coyote, but better than nothing..
