Yep, shot me some 20lb geese. And by that I mean two of the geese weighed in together at just under 20lbs. The bigger of the two was a big gander and probably the biggest honker I've shot all year.

I had the brillant idea from the other thread where somebody asked if they only used those two decoys. I decided three was a good number.

Nice little hunt. We have a rule that we never hunt roosts becuase it scatters the birds and makes them un-patternable, but since the geese have been using a no-shoot field scattering them is actually a good thing to make them hit other fields.

I slept in nice and late, checked my spot around 9am and the geese were in there, checked it again at 10am and they had left. Setup around 11 and got them as they came back for water. Not how I perfer to hunt geese but it'll have to do aslong as they sit in no shoot fields like they always do in the late season.

Finally a goose on the wall to sit next to Ians carving he made for the board.

Good job! Looks to be a really nice setting in your area. It seems once the late season hits, the local birds pretty know where the no shooting spots are!?!?

Very nice hide btw, is that the blind you made a while back??

Thats my boat with a grass cover we made to fit our boats. It blends in really good in the spots we hunt. And it's always been this way as long as I can remember, there's certain grass fields they like to stay in during the late season and almost all of them are either within city limits or the fields owned by anti hunters who don't let anyone hunt there.

These were some tough old birds, pepperoni or salami is in their futures haha.

Pretty good guess, it looks similar but it's not that slough. Another waterway in that area.

There isn't snow around Swan e Set and the Pitt is all mud shore not gravel. I think your GPS is going to send you to the wrong place.

No doors on the punt?

Should make some but I dont use it enough. We used to pull them out into b-bay for Brant.

It would definitely help to hide me and the boat better with the grass cover if I had doors and grass on them too.

We also have to launch these boats by hand into some less then friendly inclines and distances. The lighter the better.
