Got my mount back from Ray Wiens, I think he did a fantastic job on it and got it done exactly how I asked for it. My good camera is out of commission right now so I only had my cell phone to take a pic of it. Not the greatest pics.

It will likely be at the Huntfest show in June.

I've seen it in person - VERY repectable buck.

You should be a Happy Camper.

Thanks guys.

I wanted the ears sort of turned back, one is cocked slightly. The mannequin is a left sneak mount. I wanted it to look as natural as possible and Ray did an amazing job. There is also a battle mark on its neck that you can't see in the pics but is also cool. Ray asked me if I wanted it left like it was or he could fix it (same with the broken tine). I left it and when you are close you can see the fork mark where he took a blow from another buck. This mount is sooo life like. Ray Wiens is a true craftsman and knows his taxidermy. I can't say enough good things about Ray. I highly recommend his work.

I'm with you; There's a lot of history and story told, by what some would consider as being 'blemishes'.
IMO if it's there, it was meant to be there.

Now WTS, I've seen what Ray can do with a goat that plummeted down off of a rock face and then flippity flopped down a chute...... Hamburger turned into Magic.
