Hey there, just wondering if anyone has been to the Gold River. Just looking for any reports. Also wondering about the river level, whats the magic number for level. Reason for asking is I live off island and dont want to arrive to a blown out river. Obviously if its been raining for a week its probably safe to say that I should wait lol. Thanks for any info.

I miss that river, My dad and i used to go there for a 10 day trip every year. We stopped when Luna killed the run. Id like to know how the river is doing in general.

Sounds like there is a few fish around.

Try this site for water levels.

Rains not a bad thing, to much is and rain on snow is worse but..........

You can't catch'em if you dont go ;)

too much rain is the best thing for the gold river, rain for a week and then hit it when the river is real high and just starting to clear up. Stopped fishing that river when the guides started and the lodge opened on it. fished it for as long as i can remember and some huge days in the past, but those days are long gone for that river.

My old man used to fish that excessively back when I was a baby. He's got some terriffic stories about hunting and fishing there with the other teachers in the late 60's.
