The preceding photo is through a Swarovski ATS 65HD using 20X60 eyepiece @ 60. The distance to object is 1½ kilometers. No camera adapter used, purely free hand. The camera is a Pentax Optio RZ10 at no magnification.

OK; wonderful pics! Awesome shots!!
But how do you do it??? Do you need a special adapter or do you just shoot directly through the scope? How do you focus? What settings do you use on your camera? Digital SLR or point/shoot cameras?
Anybody want to share?

Very easy once you get the hang of it.

Find animal in spotter
Take camera, zoomed all the way out- I just use auto picture mode on my Olympus Tough
Look through camera screen, put above eyepiece, find the little pinhole of light, surrounded by black
Follow the pinhole of light until the camera lens is as close to eyepiece as possible...can zoom camera as needed after the camera is up to eyepiece
Zooming gets rid of the black "spotter" ring around the pic
Refocus spotter to camera, as my eye and my camera focus way different

Very easy once you get the hang of it.

Tried something out the other day... Set up my spotter, took the following picture with my smart phone...

Then looked at the pic and using the zoom function on the phone, it gave incredible detail...

Could be useful if you are hunting with a partner, you find the goat(or whatever) take a picture and then you can show it to them in your hand what you are looking at rather than trying to desribe what you see either in thier spotting scope or if they look through yours... If oyu try a stalk could be a great reference when you get close.... here is where the critter is, here is the rock bluff and the snow patch etc, so you know if you are in the right area...

This picture was taken on 15 power. Tree in the forefront is 1.5 kms away, the mtn in behind 6 or 7 km I think...

I took these photos with my Iphone 3 threw a spotter this summer, no zoom on my phone. this nanny was all alone on a little rock bluff about 2 km off a little lake i fish around home here, funny thing is the closest "goat mountain" is at least 50 miles away!, from the trails and turds it was obvious she has been there at least a couple years. Got to spend a couple hour's chatting to her before she decided it was time to go. I did get to about 30 yards, but these are from about 150 yards threw the spotter.

Turned out great.....she didnt kill a GIANT from Cadomin, but held out for a big guy after passing the ram on Day 1 and then missed a good 175" ram and ended up shooting a ram on the second last day of her hunt...
