Went for a hike with the family today and spotted this:

From the amount of tracks in the area - I'm guessing there was a whole herd nearby. Hope to get back in there soon for some better pics.

Nothing. Just couldn't come up with a better thread title and my daughter wanted to use my computer. Got your attention though!

We went for our hike higher up. Spotted this one on the way to our destination. I know it wasn't alone, but spotted it from quite a distance away and never did see the others. I'd like to go back in there with the camera soon and try to photograph the rest of the group.

I had a cow elk draw in 7-20 a few years ago. While trying to stalk a group of cows, 9 bulls appeared on my left and marched single file past me in the early morning light. 3 of them were 6 point or better. I can still see the image clear as day in my mind. I had no camera - so all I've got is a memory. The day I got back from that trip I purchased a Canon. It's been with me every time out since then.

Sorry, CS. If it's any consolation, I thought the coat was rather dark and shaggy. I guess we can go with that for being unusual.

Ha ha. I did fill that tag a couple days later but definitely thought I was snake-bit after that experience!
